Tour of the National Operetta of Ukraine in Bratislava

Artists and the leadership of the National Operetta of Ukraine visited the capital of Slovakia within the framework of the diplomatic project “Days of Kiev in Bratislava”, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Agreement on Brotherhood Relations between Kiev and Bratislava.

During the visit on September 10, the manager of the National Operetta of Ukraine Bohdan Strutinsky, the commercial director Oksana Kohut and the chief ballet master Vadim Prokopenko held a friendly meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Slovakia Yuri Mushka. And on September 11, the Ukrainian delegation met with Bratislava Deputy Mayor Lucy Stasselova. The parties discussed future cooperation between the capitals of the two countries. Special attention was paid to the development of Ukrainian-Slovak cooperation in educational and cultural spheres.
And on the evening of September 11, the soloists of the Kiev National Academic Operetta Theater together with the actors of the Slovak National Theater “Opera SND” presented with great success the concert “Evening of the Operetta”. The music of J. Strauss, I. Kalman, F.Legar, J.Offenbach, Ukrainian folk songs, as well as works by Slovak composers were heard.

Director of Opera SND Rastislav Stur and CEO and artistic director of the Kiev National Operetta Theater Bogdan Strutinsky addressed the event with guests and entertainers. They noted the importance of holding such concerts, as such events promote the development of Ukrainian-Slovak cooperation in the cultural sphere, as well as popularize Ukrainian culture in Slovakia.
“Fantastic mood and great pleasure remain after the end of the NATO concert at the National Slovak Theater in Bratislava on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of friendly and twinning relations between Kiev and Bratislava! I want to thank my whole theater team: you are the best, know about it! I also want to thank the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Slovak Republic – Mr. Yuriy Mushka, the Department of Culture of the City of Kyiv, represented by Diana Popova and Mykola Shuliak, and of course, Her Majesty OPERA, who always gives joy and leaves no one indifferent! To new victories! ”- said Bogdan Strutinsky.
It should be noted that the twinning of Kiev with Bratislava began in 1969 with the signing of the Friendship Agreement. Over these 50 years, fruitful relations have been established between the two cities. The parties exchanged experts in the field of urban economy, sports, representatives of the creative intelligentsia, liaison between universities, theaters and more.
Kyiv and Bratislava mayors Oleksandr Spasybko and Lucia Stasselova said that the Kyiv Days in Bratislava and the Evening of the Operetta would strengthen not only friendly ties between the two capitals, but also between the Ukrainian and Slovak peoples!
