Gala-concert of the National Operetta of Ukraine within the frame of the International Festival of “Art Park. Jazz”


On October 4, soloists of the National Operetta of Ukraine inflamed the audience on the International Festival of “Art Park. Jazz “, which was held in Bucha Central City Park in Kyiv region as a part of the Small Cities – Big Impressions project.The vocalists together with the ballet and orchestra presented a real fest of jazz music – music of freedom, mastery of dialogue and improvisation full of taste and content to the audience. Artists of the National Academic Operetta Theater prepared the best vocal and ballet numbers of the most popular jazz music, musicals and operettas. There was a medley on the music of J. Kander, K. Porter, J. Presgurvik, J. Stein, and L. Webber in the orchestral edition of the Sergey Didok, the Conductor. Jazz magic was presented by compositions from musical “Hello, Dolly!” by J.Herman, “Sweet Charity,” by S. Coleman, “Some like it hot,” by J. Stain and “Pippin” by S.Schwartz.Besides the soloists of the National Operetta, Cleveland Watkiss the UK best jazz singer, virtuoso was on the stage of the Summer Theater. He performed three compositions from Porgy and the Bess musical by G. Gershwin.In the cool autumn evening the artists warmed the audience with music and got the loud applauses in return.
